Both come with stock straps — the MoonSwatch with its characteristic velcro band, the Blancpain x Swatch with its rubber original — but for most collectors, the first modification is a strap change. MoonSwatch (Omega x Swatch) — Sizing and Fitting
The Omega x Swatch MoonSwatch uses a standard 20mm lug width with conventional spring bars — the same fitting mechanism as most popular sport and dive watches. Every 20mm strap in the CNS range fits the MoonSwatch directly.
Tools required: a standard spring bar tool to remove the existing strap and install the new one. If your new strap comes with quick-release spring bars, no tool is needed.
Important: the MoonSwatch case is bioceramic — a hard but scratch-susceptible material. Work on a soft cloth and protect the case back and lugs when using a spring bar tool. Avoid metal tools that could slip and mark the case.
There is no size restriction beyond the 20mm lug width — any construction, any material, any colour. The full nylon, leather, and rubber ranges are available at 20mm.
Blancpain x Swatch Fifty Fathoms Scuba Frogskin — Sizing and Fitting
The Blancpain x Swatch Fifty Fathoms uses a lug width of approximately 21.7mm — compatible with standard 22mm straps. However, the fitting mechanism is fundamentally different from the MoonSwatch: instead of conventional spring bars, the Blancpain x Swatch uses screw-in pins secured by hex screws. A standard spring bar tool will not remove them.
Tools required: a 0.9mm hex key (allen key) to unscrew the pins before fitting a new strap. The hex key is essential — do not attempt to lever out the pins with a spring bar tool as this risks damaging the case and the pins.
Once the screw pins are removed, any standard 22mm strap fits the Blancpain x Swatch. The full CNS nylon, leather, and rubber ranges are available at 22mm.
Note: CNS Watch Bands straps ship with standard quick-release spring bars. For the Blancpain x Swatch, you will use your existing screw pins or source replacement pins — the CNS strap fits correctly with either fitting mechanism.
